The Art of Being a New Leader

There are very few things more frustrating than working for a weak or bad leader.  We appreciate a strong leader, a leader who is calm, cool and collected.  But also passionate, caring and understanding.  We want confidence, but we also want humility.

That’s a lot to ask of one person and the pressure on a new leader can be overwhelming.  On this episode, I speak with Lacy Kaiser, the Manager of The Best of Seven Barbershop about the art of being a new leader.

The Art of Being a Quitter

The Art of Being Angry

Are you okay getting angry?  Not me!  Feeling angry makes me mad!  I actively work to never feel angry if I can help it.  It’s okay because suppressing a natural emotion is healthy right?  Well, now it’s my turn to be in the hot seat.  In this episode, Jill coaches me on the art of being angry.

The Art of Being Seen

I like you.  Do you like me?  If you like this Instagram picture I might feel a bit better about myself.  I put a lot of thought into presenting myself in just the right way so you see what I want you to see.  Oh it’s the real me… but maybe it’s the shiny version of me.

This week I chat with Shannon Yacyshyn about the art of being seen.  How do we curate our public profiles to enhance or hide what’s really going on?

Shannon Yacyshyn (pronounced: ya-sish-in) is recovering food blogger and Instagram addict.  She can be found on various social platforms under the handle @shannonyac (twitter, Instagram, yelp and facebook) and occasionally updates a Facebook page entitled Red Deer Foodie.  If you go deep on Red Deer Shaw channel’s youtube account, you may even find the video of her making pancakes!
